book nerd.

i am a book nerd.
i would rather read a book or go to the bookstore/library, than anything else.
i actually worked at a library last year for 6 months before we had to move. it was lovely.
i got my reading skills from my father. when he has time, he reads a book a day.
i try to do one every 2-3 weeks.

Water for Elephants, is what i am reading at the moment & i actually am enjoying it, i put it off for so long because i wasn't sure about reading about elephants and the great depression but, there is more to it.

i will be reading this massive book next.
i actually bought it because it is over 999 pages.
it might take me awhile. but i worked with a girl, who vowed that this was the best book ever.
so i will give it a try. i definitely do not want to pass up the best book ever.

I am reading Pillars right now and can't put it down!!! (Although, it is quite heavy and I have to rest the book on something when I'm reading in my favorite chair--so I do put it down, but I can't stop reading it!) I was intimidated by it and have been putting off reading it for a couple of years. It had worked its way to the top of my stack and Lori Wortman swore it was fabulous, so I took on the challenge. I'm 1/3 of the way through and I can't imagine what else is going to happen. It's epic. I think you'll love it. As far as Water for Elephants goes, I just despised it. I read it when it was a new release and could barely finish it. I rarely ever despise a book, but I just hated it. It was gross, perverse, and ugly. I love hisorical period books, so this seemed right up my alley. It has great reviews and I know several people who liked it. I disliked it so much I'm considering reading it again to find out if I was just out of it when I read it. I do think it would be an interesting movie. When you read it, picture Daniel Day Lewis as the ringmaster. Academy award for sure. I love your blog. It's so the you I remember. I, too, am a serious book nerd and would read all day if I didn't have these stinkin kids to take care of (really kidding). I'm your first official blog follower! How fun. I'm sure you'll have many others soon. My blog is http://mytrampolinelife.blogspot.com/. I started it last December. If I could just read and blog for a living, wouldn't life be perfect? Have a great summer in WV. I'll be reading what you write. :)

  2. OMG! I almost bought 'pillars' today at barnes and noble, but decided against it. I think i'll give it another try. I'm reading 'under the dome' by stephen king right now, it's a pretty detailed/lengthy novel, but I have no idea what's going to happen, so it's keeping my interest thus far ;)
